PS23 journal / Faith in motion

In the beginning

PS23 didn't begin with a perfect plan. It began with a quiet nudge, a failed venture, and a redirection I believe God orchestrated. From pickleball paddles to faith-forward apparel — this is the story of obedience, failure, and a Shepherd who never stopped leading.

For nearly two years, I carried a quiet desire — the kind that sits with you, nudges you in the early hours, and refuses to leave. I wanted to build something of my own. But fear had a louder voice. Fear of the unknown. Fear of not knowing enough. So I waited.

Then I noticed something. Pickleball was everywhere — courts filling up, people of all ages picking up paddles, a community forming around a sport I'd never paid much attention to. Something clicked. This is it. This is where I start.

I found suppliers. I negotiated. I built a brand around it. I even secured two manufacturers. But when the paddles were tested, the reception was poor. What felt like a setback, I now understand was a redirection — one I believe God orchestrated with purpose.

Two lessons landed hard in that season. First: as a new entrepreneur, don't begin with complexity. Start small, stay humble, learn the ground beneath your feet. Second — and more profoundly — business is not merely a vehicle for profit. As a follower of Christ, everything I build must carry His name with honour.

Then came the impression, quiet but clear: start a clothing brand.

So I did. And I kept the name — PS23, rooted in Psalm 23.

The logo was brought to life with the help of AI — but every symbol within it was placed with meaning A staff, embedded within the number 2. A crown resting above it. The King is the Good Shepherd. He holds the staff not as a symbol of power alone, but of comfort, discipline, and guidance — the marks of a shepherd who knows His sheep by name. The number 2 carries its own quiet meaning: two persons — the Shepherd and the sheep. A relationship. A covenant. And the 3 — a reminder of the Trinity. Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The fullness of God, woven into the very name of this brand.

The early days of designing were humbling. Prints came out distorted. Execution fell short of vision. But I kept going, because I loved what I was doing — and that love felt like a sign.

I launched with basic tees carrying just the logo. Then God reminded me of something I had almost overlooked: What about His words?

I deleted everything and started again.

Every design that followed was built on Scripture — with meaning behind it, a conversation waiting to happen, bold enough to speak to the person wearing it and to everyone who sees it. Not decoration. Declaration.

This is how PS23 began. Not with a perfect plan, but with obedience, failure, redirection, and a Shepherd who never stopped leading.

Waiting for His return, His servant.
